Darlene L. Pfeiffer is the founder of the Kentucky Fried Chicken Scholarship presented by Darlene Pfeiffer and the Daniel Perez Cueva Scholarship for Immigrants by Darlene L. Pfeiffer. Darlene Pfeiffer has a philanthropic and entrepreneurial legacy. A SUNY New Paltz Alumni graduating summa cum laude, and owner of multiple Kentucky Fried Chicken franchises. She regularly gives to community food programs such as the Clinton Avenue United Methodist Church’s annual Thanksgiving Day dinner. In 2012, the Darlene L. Pfeiffer Center for Entrepreneurial Studies opened at SUNY Ulster. The endowment for the center was the single-largest gift and pledge to SUNY Ulster by a living donor. in 2015, SUNY Ulster launched OWN it! Entrepreneurial Women’s Conference. The annual event sponsored through Darlene’s contributions and vision has energized the community of women entrepreneuers serving 500 women to date. Darlene was also the originating supporter of the Pfeiffer Technology and Innovation Lab which opened in 2017. The Pfeiffer Lab is a member of the SMARTT (SUNY Manufacturing Alliance for Research and Technology Transfer) Lab network. As of September 2018, Darlene provides $15,000 in annual scholarships at SUNY Ulster.
