Marie and Guido J. Napoletano Family Memorial Scholarship

Helene Lehtinen, Professor Emerita of Communications, and members of her family originally established this scholarship in the names of her parents Marie and Guido J. Napoletano. Mr. Napoletano, a practicing attorney in Ulster County for over 50 years, served as president of the Ulster County Bar Association and was well respected for his integrity, scholarship, and love of the law. Mrs. Napoletano, a devoted mother and grandmother, was also an active member in the community. This award now also memorializes their beloved daughter, Laurie, who died suddenly in 2011.This scholarship is awarded to a SUNY Ulster graduate receiving an A.A. in Liberal Arts either in the Humanities, Social Sciences, or Math/Science. The recipient shall have attained a GPA of 3.7 or better and shall have no more than nine transfer credits. Completion of the Honors Program is desired but not required. Est. 1996
