Christus J. Larios Scholarship for the Sciences
Christus J. Larios, as a principal in Brinnier and Larios, P.C. played an integral role in the establishment and growth of Ulster County Community College and served as one of the Founding Members of the Ulster Community College Foundation, Inc. Board until his passing. In 2001, he was honored by the college for chairing the fund drive for the Trust for Technology campaign, an effort which raised 1.8 million dollars to support the acquisition of new technology for the campus. After graduating from Cornell University and receiving his Doctor of Philosophy degree in Community Services from Pacific Western University, he became a partner with Augustus S. Brinnier in the engineering firm that bears their names. He was a member of the Board of Trustees for Ulster Savings Bank from 1965 to 2001. The Christus J. Larios Scholarship for the Sciences is for students who are pursuing a course of study or career path in the physical sciences including physics, chemistry, engineering or biology, or students studying Industrial Technology.
