Lorien Niniel Kimlin Scholarship

In memory of Lorien Niniel Kimlin who tragically died in an accident in 1998, Lorien’s family and friends have established a scholarship to keep her memory alive. Lorien was a student at Dutchess Community College who studied foreign language and was majoring in International Business. Lorien’s ultimate goal in life was to someday work for the United Nations where she hoped to make a contribution to promoting peace between all nations.

This scholarship is available to students at Marist College or Dutchess, Orange or Ulster Community College who graduated from a Dutchess, Orange or Ulster county high school and who plan to study the Spanish language abroad in Spain next year. A successful applicant will have an understanding of how the study of Spanish in Spain will help them to pursue career goals that may utilize this knowledge. Some consideration will also be given to the financial need of the applicant.
